Richard H. Stein is a founding member of the law firm of Randall & Stein, P.A.
Mr. Stein has over forty years of experience which includes handling a wide range of tax, trust, and estate matters. Mr. Stein is regularly involved in sophisticated estate planning, the administration of estates and trusts, and various individual and business income tax matters. He also negotiates and settles civil and criminal income tax controversies before the Internal Revenue Service, United States Attorneys’ Office, Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice, and state taxing authorities.
Mr. Stein has acted as tax counsel in hundreds of matrimonial actions, has been appointed by various courts as a fiscal conservator, has been appointed by numerous judges as the court’s tax counsel, and has been recognized and accepted by courts as a tax expert. Mr. Stein also serves on the New Jersey Inheritance Tax Committee.
Mr. Stein acquired extensive experience serving as an attorney for the Internal Revenue Service Estate and Gift Tax group. There his practice focused on estate administration and estate tax matters. At the Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Stein also acted as tax counsel to the Criminal Investigation Division.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Stein was an accountant for the accounting firm of Arthur Young & Company, now known as Ernst & Young.
